Partying New Years Eve

Monday, December 31, 2012

Muscles are recovered and I feel ready to get back on the bike after my extended rest period. I’m not sure why I ran down my batteries so low, but I cannot thank Mandy enough for her generous hospitality and helping me to ready myself for the next stage of my adventure.

But first I’ve got a New Years Eve party to go to. Those who know me well will be quite surprised, as I usually shy away from these kind of gatherings, but I think it will do me good to let my hair down and mix with a group of total strangers. I’ll not be drinking alcohol though, the very least I can do is repay my host by acting as unofficial chauffeur for the night!
Then tomorrow it’s onwards to have a look around Gibraltar, before taking the ferry from Algeciras over to Ceuta and the beginning of my African Odyssey. For me personally I see this as the real start of my world tour, especially as it’s at the very beginning of a new year anyway.

So have a great time tonight everyone. I wish you all the very best and a very prosperous New Year in 2013.
