Sat here on the train to London, with only 15 minutes of free wifi, I thought I would use it to thank all those who have helped to make this journey possible. My good friend Ruth so kindly accommodated me while I put together the kit I needed and ran around the various stores. To have a base from which to do this was invaluable and I can’t thank you enough, not just for helping me but in talking some much needed sense into me – you are the best kind of friend anyone could ask for.
I spent my penultimate night back near my home town with my best friend Tony and his lovely wife Sam. Considering how I initially refused to accept help from them, they once again showed me what true friendship is all about. I find it very heartwarming that amongst probably one of the most troublesome periods in my life, your true friends don’t desert you. I love you guys.
So why am I on the train? Well I wanted to get started over a week ago so I could hit the Pyrenees before winter had set in. Running late I figured (with a little help from Ruth!) that I should get started in France as soon as possible, so the trip will officially start from Dieppe in about 20 hours time. With luck the mountains will be still be passable. 🙂
And that’s it for now, my 15 minutes are up. More later…
