Why are you hanging about?

Wednesday, October 31, 2012

Words from a friend who’s concerned the weather is getting colder and I’ve not set off yet.

Well suddenly deciding you’re going to cycle around the world does take some planning! Truth is I’m still waiting for much of the kit to arrive as I have shopped for most of the more expensive items online – saving huge amounts of money. I’m being a little bit savvy here though, wandering through shops looking at the kit and then coming home to order it online. For those who think it’s not worth the hassle, just buy the kit in the store – I’ll give you just one example.
I chose the Primus Omnifuel Stove after looking at the different models in Cotswold Camping, where the price was £155.00. I paid just £124.99 for it online.

It’s also worth comparing prices at the different stores, as there can be huge differences. Once more Google is your friend, I ended up buying my panniers from Spa Cycles in Harrogate, as no-one else could get even close to their prices.

I’ll be writing about all the kit and my reasons for choosing it on the Gear & Reviews section of the website, so make sure you take a look.
